ANZ Netball Championship - Southern Steel vs Northern Mystics

Monday night I went to this game live at the Trusts stadium in Waitakere...

I bought this as a mothers day present, and naturally got my brother to tag along as well

First we left early suspecting that the seating would be unallocated and we had 3 tickets, so we headed out and arrived there at approx 6:15pm, (the doors opened at 6pm)- the game wasn't due to start till 7:15pm, we obviously didn't go early enough as all parking was taken, not to mention all the surrounding streats were crammed with cars. For some strange reason there was no offering of paid parking on the website when I purchased the tickets..  (Ticketdirect)

So off we went to a small parking lot (the parking of a local netball club where we paid $5 to park, I don't mind this so much, as the money they recieved went towards their local club).

Anyway parking aside, we made our way in to the stadium, where sure enough the seating wasn't allocated and we had to try and find 3 seats next to each other- which actually wasn't too hard, the ANZ Championship games aren't exactly sold out every week....

Somehow we managed to sit in front of the only 2 lunatic 10 year olds in the whole stadium who preceded to drive my mum crazy until I switched places with her. There are lots of kids there which I think is great for the sport. But these two seemed like someone had paid them to spend the night driving us crazy, first the kept smacking their blue batons together the whole  night, not just when a team scored, it was like one of those toys that you pull the cord back and the monkey bashes the sticks together, except they never stopped, of course their parent's were no where in sight (I looked for them), Iam guessing they were used to their kids annoying other patrons watching the netball, and kept well away.

The food was great at $4.00 for a small tub of hot chips with a drop of sauce, not suprising really..

Well the Mystics lost but the game was great to watch, next time I'll get a front row seat so as not to have 2 little annoying monkeys sitting behind me...

Millie Elder back in the courts…

It is suspected that Millie will be given some Jail time this time, I remain doubtful.

celebrity justice has proven that often the sentences handed out for crimes are too soft and often involve community service or home detention- both of which offer no form of rehabilitation or pay any debt to society.

How many strikes until your out?

Should celebrity status (not that she is much of a celebrity) count for anything in a courtroom? It shouldn’t, but it does, it counts for leniency on some part from the Judge. For example say a complete stranger is arrested and charged for a bar fight in the city, now say Marc Ellis is arrested and charged for the same offense straight away you sympathise with the celebrity.

I don’t see any resolve for Millie whatever sentence is handed out, as she is still with her head hunter boyfriend and associated with the wrong crowd.

Besides a sentence of Jail, Home detention, Community service will not change a thing..
